Horticultural Oil Provides Year-Round Plant Protection

Azaleas can be treated!

As winter takes its last few breaths and releases its cold and icy grip upon our properties, we look around outside and begin to see the small signs of spring, pushing up through the soil.

Along with the budding blossoms and blades of green breaking through the ground comes an abundance of insects as they begin their life cycle journey.

While some of these insects play a vital role in protecting our shrubs and trees, many others are out to destroy our beloved plants and gardens, robbing us of our beautiful green environment. As with most things in life, you have to take the bad right along with the good!

Fortunately, Willow Tree and Landscape Services has a little trick that is both safe for the environment and non-toxic to you, your family, and your pets: horticultural oil.

Horticultural oil can be applied very early in the spring to trees and shrubs prone to some of the more difficult to control pests. This application is called a “dormant” application and is used to control overwintering eggs and insects such as adelgids, many types of scales, mealybugs, mites, and aphids.

Although it can be used on many types of trees and shrubs, evergreens such as hemlocks, spruce trees, and azaleas are some of the most commonly treated.

Not only is horticultural oil easy to apply, it is also surprisingly affordable. Right now is the perfect time of year to consider this treatment from Willow Tree and Landscape Services. Act now to protect your beloved trees and shrubs all season long!

What They're Saying

Let me start from the beginning. I had a tree fall down in my yard that crushed my deck outback, crushed an expensive canopy and blocked the back door of my house, which was a huge fire hazard had we not been able to get out of the front door. I called willow tree service and for an insurance estimate and had the absolute please to deal with Scott and his team. We made an appointment for them to check everything out and when we scheduled a time not only was he ON TIME but to the minute. Long story short insurance tried to say it wasn’t as bad as it actually was. Not only did Scott and his team (who were booked for a month in advance) work with what my insurance company gave me, within 3 days he made it his priority to get that tree away from my house and hauled away so I could exit the house safely God for bid an emergency happen. They were no surprise cost, the work that was done was impeccable and he and his men went above and beyond the call of duty. I wish there were something I could do for this man and his crew that would make up for how great I was treated and how great the work they did was done. Not only will I recommend them to neighbors and friends alike, I will call them friends myself and any future work with landscaping or a tree or trimming I will go nowhere else! Sorry to be long-winded but this needed to be said. Scott and crew I hope you see this and know you helped a family who needed that help, God bless you, God bless Willow tree service and God bless the crew!
